BarterChest - Player-Run Shops for Hytale

Transform any chest into a fully functional player shop with BarterChest. Built for servers that want organic, player-driven economies without artificial currencies.

Features

Pure Barter System No coins, no virtual currency. Players trade items for items directly. You set what you're selling and what you want in return.

Simple Setup

Craft a Barter License (5 Linen Scraps + 1 Gold Bar) at any Workbench

Right-click a chest to claim it as your shop

Configure your listing through the intuitive UI

Stock your chest and you're open for business

Floating Item Display Each shop displays the item being sold above the chest so customers can see at a glance what's available.

Shop Protection Shops and surrounding blocks are protected from griefing. Owners remove shops through the menu, ensuring clean teardown.

Automatic Transactions Secure item transfers happen instantly when customers purchase. No risk of scams or failed trades.

SimpleClaims Integration Works seamlessly with SimpleClaims. Players can only create shops within their claimed territory.

Commands

Command Description

/barterchest info View information about a shop you're looking at

/barterchest remove Remove your shop (owner only)

/barterchest admin Admin management commands

/barterchest cleanup Clean up orphaned display entities

Permission Description

barterchest.create Allows creating shops (default: all players)

barterchest.admin Access to admin commands

Configuration

BarterChest works out of the box with sensible defaults. Server operators can customize:

Maximum shops per player

Allowed/blocked items for trading

Shop creation restrictions
