Coal

- In Orbis, fire has always been essential, but rarely enough.

Anyone who spends time mining quickly realizes that charcoal and logs struggle to keep up with the journey. Ores pile up, furnaces stall, and progression slows to a crawl. This mod exists as a natural evolution of that problem, without breaking the game’s flow.

When mining Copper, Iron, Silver, or Gold, there is a chance to obtain Coal directly from the rock itself. With enough luck, even rarer Sulfur studs may be uncovered, hidden within unstable and impure ores.

On their own, these resources already serve a purpose. When combined at a Workbench, however, they become something far more efficient. By merging Coaland Sulfur, players can craft Compact Coal, a denser and longer-lasting fuel suited for extended furnace use, whether cooking food or processing large quantities of ores without constant interruptions.

This mod is not about artificially speeding things up. It focuses on refining early-game progression, making mining more rewarding, and offering meaningful choices around fuel and efficiency.

At the moment, the system relies on additional drops from existing ores. Once world generation modding becomes available, the mod will be expanded to include dedicated ores, allowing new and visually distinct veins to naturally appear throughout Orbis.

Feedback is highly appreciated. The mod is open to refinement, balance tweaks, and small improvements, with several ideas already being considered for future updates.

HOW TO INSTALL

To use this mod in all your worlds:

Go to %appdata%, then open the Hytale folder Navigate to UserData and then mods Drag the mod file into the mods folder

To use the mod in a specific world only:

Go to %appdata%, then Hytale Navigate to UserData Open the saves folder Enter the folder of the world you want Open the mods folder inside that world Drag the mod file into it

That’s it. The mod will be active the next time you launch the game!
