Functional Barrels adds craftable, fully functional barrel storage to Hytale by turning existing barrel models into usable storage containers, complete with smooth opening animations that feel native to the game.

Features

New Craftable Barrels Adds three types of functional barrels: Crude, Tavern, and Ancient, each providing full storage functionality.

18 Inventory Slots Each barrel has 18 slots, equivalent to a small chest.

Custom Opening Animations Smooth, custom-made opening animations designed to match Hytale’s art style.

Vanilla-Friendly Integration Uses existing barrel models and textures, keeping the original visual style intact.

Important Notes

Existing barrels in the world (from prefabs) are not affected. Newly crafted functional barrels will work automatically.

Crafting: - Crude barrels: Survival Workbench - Tavern barrels: Furniture Workbench - Ancient barrels: Furniture Workbench, Memories Level 2 required

Breaking a barrel drops its contents. All stored items will drop into the world when the barrel is broken.

Before uninstalling the mod: Items stored inside barrels will remain tied to the block and may become inaccessible. Make sure to empty all barrels before uninstalling the mod.
