❖ What are Katars? Katars are a new melee weapon type, closely related to Daggers, but with a distinct identity focused on high mobility, aggressive positioning, and tactical disengagement.

While they belong to the same weapon family as Daggers, Katars introduce a different combat flow that rewards fast decision-making and creative weapon synergy.

❖ Basic Attack The basic attack of Katars is not a standard melee swing.

Instead, it simulates the charged attack of Daggers, performing a short forward dash on every attack. This allows players to quickly close gaps and maintain constant offensive pressure.

❖ Ultimate Ability The ultimate ability of Katars is a powerful mobility-based attack:

A long forward dash

Immediately followed by

Two forward slashes forming an X-shaped attack

This ability excels at repositioning, breaking through enemies, and dealing high burst damage in a wide area.

❖ Defensive Attack When blocking and attacking at the same time, Katars perform a backward dash.

This mechanic allows players to:

Disengage safely

Avoid dangerous attacks

Reposition quickly during combat

This makes Katars especially effective for hit-and-run playstyles.

❖ Special Katars: Thorium & Adamantite The Thorium and Adamantite Katars require crystals in their crafting recipes.

In exchange, they gain unique properties:

Thorium Katar → Emits a green light

Adamantite Katar → Emits a red light

These light sources are not only visual effects, but can also be used strategically in dark environments.

❖ Off-Hand Usage Thanks to their ability to:

Emit light

Perform a backward dash while blocking

Katars can be equipped in the off-hand, opening up powerful combinations.

Axe + Katar

One-handed Sword + Katar

Crossbow + Katar

While using your main tool or weapon, Katars allow you to:

Illuminate your surroundings
