Mithril World Generation – Restoring a Missing Core Resource (HYTALE EARLY ACCESS)

🛠️ Fixing what should have been there from day one.

In the current release of Hytale, Mithril equipment (armor & weapons) already exists — yet the Mithril ore itself does not naturally generate in the world, making it impossible to obtain legitimately.

This mod solves that problem by fully integrating Mithril into world generation.

⚙️ How It Works

This mod hooks directly into Hytale’s vanilla world generator and enhances it without replacing or breaking existing mechanics.

During chunk generation, the mod scans for Adamantite ore blocks across all relevant stone variants (Basalt, Shale, Slate, Stone, and Volcanic). Based on a configurable chance, a portion of these Adamantite blocks is seamlessly replaced with Mithril ore, allowing Mithril to generate naturally in the world while preserving balance and progression.

No custom dimensions, commands, or manual spawning are used — Mithril simply becomes part of the world, exactly where it was always meant to be. ⛏️

📦 Installation & Setup

1. Install the mod into your Hytale server or client mod directory

2. Start the server and join the world once to generate all required files

3. Stop the server

4. Navigate to: universe/worlds/default/config.json

5. Update the world generator configuration:

"WorldGen": { "Type": "Hytale", "Name": "Default" },

to:

"WorldGen": { "Type": "HYLIA-WORLDGEN", "Name": "Default" },

6. (Optional) Adjust the Mithril spawn rate in the config (Default: 8% - recommended and balanced)

7. Restart the server and enjoy natural Mithril world generation ✨

TODO: I am already working on adding Storm Leather, which is also required for crafting. The plan is to make it obtainable through generated loot (e.g. chests). This feature is still in development, but I wanted to release the mod already in its current state.
