🕯️ Spark Lantern Pets

Spark Lantern Pet adds a living, floating lantern that follows the player during their adventures, lighting up the surroundings and adding extra atmosphere to the world. It is neither a weapon nor a combat companion: it’s a light source designed for exploration and comfort.

A light that follows you

The lantern floats close to the player and follows them naturally as they move through the world. It provides constant light, strong enough for caves and mines, but balanced so it doesn’t break the survival experience. Its behaviour is designed to feel organic and stable.

Proporciona luz constante, lo suficientemente potente para cuevas y minas, pero equilibrada para no romper la experiencia survival. Su comportamiento está pensado para sentirse orgánico y estable.

Sound and atmosphere

The lantern is not silent. While active, it emits a soft ambient sound, similar to a lantern or a small flame. It also plays sounds when appearing and disappearing, and can occasionally emit a small random squeak that reinforces the feeling that it is a living creature rather than a simple floating object.

Spanish: La linterna no es silenciosa. Mientras está activa emite un sonido ambiental suave, similar al de una linterna o una pequeña llama. Además, reproduce sonidos al aparecer y al desaparecer, y ocasionalmente puede emitir un pequeño chillido aleatorio que refuerza la sensación de que es una criatura viva y no un simple objeto flotante.

Three different styles

The mod includes three visual variants to choose from, depending on your style:

💛 Yellow

💙 Blue

💗 Pink

All of them work exactly the same; only the colour and appearance change.

How to craft it

The lantern is obtained through crafting at the Furniture Workbench, under the Miscellaneous category (the same place where the plush kweebec is found).

Each colour has its own recipe. Once the lantern egg is crafted, it is ready to use.

Spanish: La linterna se obtiene mediante crafteo en la Furniture Workbench, dentro del apartado Miscellaneous (el mismo donde se encuentra el kweebec de peluche). Cada color tiene su propia receta. Una vez crafteado el huevo de la linterna, ya está listo para usarse.

How to use it

Using the lantern is very simple:

- Use the egg to summon the floating lantern.

- The lantern will automatically follow you and light the way.

- When you no longer need it, interact with it to collect it and recover the egg.

It is not lost or consumed: you can summon and store it as many times as you like.

Spanish: Usar la linterna es muy sencillo: Usa el huevo para invocar la linterna flotante. La linterna te seguirá automáticamente e iluminará el camino. Cuando ya no la necesites, interactúa con ella para recogerla y recuperar el huevo. No se pierde ni se consume: puedes invocarla y guardarla tantas veces como quieras.

Multiplayer – Tips & Recommendations

This mod works in multiplayer, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Due to limitations of the game engine, the lantern cannot be permanently bound to a single player, so in certain situations it may react to nearby players instead of only its owner.

For a smoother experience, it is recommended that:

- Each player uses their own lantern.

- You avoid spawning many lanterns close together.

- Lanterns are picked up when not needed.

Following these recommendations helps ensure more stable and predictable behaviour in multiplayer sessions.

Debido a limitaciones del motor del juego, la linterna no puede quedar vinculada de forma permanente a un único jugador, por lo que en ciertas situaciones puede reaccionar a jugadores cercanos y no solo a su dueño.

Para una experiencia más estable, se recomienda:

- Que cada jugador use su propia linterna.

- Evitar invocar muchas linternas juntas.

- Recoger las linternas cuando no se estén utilizando.

Technical limitations

Spark Lantern Pet is designed with stability as a priority. It does not include temporary buffs, automatic transformations, or complex systems for now. Sounds are tied to in-game animations, which imposes certain limitations but ensures compatibility and good performance.

This mod is intended for players who enjoy exploring caves, mines, and dark areas with more comfort and atmosphere, without altering game balance or adding unnecessary mechanics.
