Functional Growth: Tomatoes now grow correctly through all 4 stages, using a logic similar to Wheat.

Craftable Seeds: You can craft the fixed tomato seeds directly at the Farmer's Workbench.

Visual Indicator: The fixed seed bag has a custom icon (with a green checkmark) so you can easily tell it apart from the bugged vanilla seeds.
