⚔️ Uggles’ Katanas A progression-focused katana framework built for Hytale.

This mod adds a set of katanas designed to slot naturally into vanilla gameplay while leaving room for deeper combat mechanics as modding support expands. It’s my first Hytale mod, built with balance, clarity, and future systems in mind.

🧩 DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Rather than focusing on flashy mechanics right away, this mod prioritizes:

- Clear tier progression - Visual distinction between materials - Combat that emphasizes movement - A foundation that can grow alongside the modding API

Signature abilities and advanced combat mechanics are planned, but only once they can be implemented cleanly and reliably.

🗡️ KATANA PROGRESSION

The mod currently includes 7 katana tiers, balanced to follow vanilla material strength:

Wood Copper Iron Cobalt Mithril Adamantite Thorium

Each katana: - Is craftable - Uses tier-appropriate balance - Has a distinct visual design - Is crafted through the Weapons Workbench

🥋 COMBAT & MOVEMENT

Dodge Ability

Custom weapons currently have limited blocking behavior, so katanas instead focus on mobility.

- Katanas include a dodge ability for repositioning and evasion - Standard blocking is still available - Once custom blocking is properly supported, katana combat will be expanded further

This keeps the weapon usable now without locking it into temporary mechanics forever.

🎨 VISUAL DIRECTION

- Every tier has its own look - Designs stay close to Hytale’s vanilla style

Future updates may expand visuals further once advanced animation and VFX systems are better understood.
