Survival Overhaul - Mortal Wounds
This mod introduces an injury system to Hytale for a more hardcore survival experience, adding bleeds, fractures, and first aid items that make combat and exploration more dangerous and meaningful.
About Survival Overhaul - Mortal Wounds
Survival Overhaul - Mortal Wounds
0.0.3 - Added a new Arm Fracture. Now, when you receive a fracture, there's 50% chance it will be either an arm fracture or leg fracture. Arm reduces damage you deal by 50% (configurable in config file). Leg fracture reduces movement speed to 75% and disables sprinting.
Bandages and Splints now only heal 1 condition at a time instead of multiple bleeds/fractures at once.
Updated effect icons to make it clearer which you have (bleed icon, heavy bleed icon, arm fracture, leg fracture).
Removed chat messages for receiving conditions for now.
Default configs are 25% bleed chance, 10% fracture, 50% damage reduction on arm fractures.
Hardcore Injury System for Hytale
Mortal Wounds adds a persistent injury system to Hytale, inspired by hardcore survival games like Outward and Escape from Tarkov. Damage now has lasting consequences, making getting hit and tanking damage more risky.
Features
Injury System Taking damage has a chance to apply injuries based on a chance when hit. Injuries persist for a long duration until treated.
Current Injuries Implemented - all chances can be changed in the config.
Bleed – Long-lasting damage over time, default 25% chance.
Heavy Bleed – More severe damage over time. Longer lasting than a bleed.
Fracture – Reduces movement speed and disables sprinting. Long-lasting duration. With a broken bone status effect icon. Receiving a fracture again resets the duration currently.
Arm Fracture - Reduces damage done by 50%.
Medical Items
Crude Bandage – Stops all bleeding effects. Can be crafted in your inventory or at a workbench.
Crude Splint – Heals fractures. Can be crafted in your inventory or at a workbench.
For now, the recipe for both uses plant fibre and sticks.
How It Works
Injuries are curently applied through a random roll when the player is hit by an attack.
Active Development
This mod is in active development and more is planned to add to it.
Planned updates include:
Additional injury types
Balancing injury severity
Injuries applied depending on damage amount taken, fall damage, type of damage, etc.
More medical items and treatments
Expanded survival mechanics
Built as part of a planned larger survival overhaul
Feedback and suggestions are welcome!
THIS IS AN EARLY VERSION AND I WILL BE UPDATING AS OFTEN AS I CAN AND AS NEEDED.
Changelog:
1.0.2 - Added an injuries_config located on your world saves root folder. You can set the chance for a bleed and fracture. Note that as I consider fractures to be a worse debuff, if you set fracture chance higher than bleeds you'll only get fractures and never bleeds.
Messages are disabled right now whether you set it to true or false as I still have a bug to fix with them or may just leave messages out entirely.
Also a bug fix attempt on particle effects remaining around other players even after healing their bleeds.
